The collaboration will add a new cider bar to the popular downtown restaurant.
Fat Ptarmigan, the well-known downtown eatery, famous for its wood-fired pizzas is rebooting the restaurant with a full renovation offering a more casual vibe, and some new menu items (hopefully more pizzas). They’re also collaborating with Double Shovel Cider Company on an expansion that will become the Anchorage Cider House, a new bar with 8 taps dedicated to serving their hard ciders. The completely renovated bar in the south room will offer a selection of Double Shovel’s hard ciders while the bar in the North room will continue to offer a wide selection of local craft brews.
Fat Ptarmigan is open during normal business hours during the renovation and the new expansion is expected to be open by mid-February, 2020.
This collaboration does not represent a financial merger or buyout of either entity. Fat Ptarmigan will in sole control of the licensed premises, alcohol sales and food sales. Double Shovel has no direct financial interest in Fat Ptarmigan or the Anchorage Cider House,
Fat Ptarmigan is located at 441 W 5th Avenue, Suite 100.
