Postmodern oddity in Campbell Lake area asks $340K
Built in 1986, this 2500 SF home at 2301 Canary Ct has been on the market since September as a foreclosure listed at $340K. The previous owner(s) purchased the house in 2010 for $495K and, unfortunately, it appears there’s been some deferred maintenance since then.
Resembling something out of an episode of Miami Vice this house may seem a bit out of place in Anchorage but it’s a solid representation of the identity crisis that is 1980s architecture which (unfortunately) coincided with Anchorage’s biggest construction boom.
Located in the Campbell Lake area which is home to some of Anchorage’s wealthiest residents, it’s unclear whether the buyer of this home will have access to the lake. HOA fees are listed at zero which suggests that this property is not included in the Campbell lake HOA.
There’s an address marker sign in the front yard that makes the house look like a medical office building and at first glance, that’s a reasonable assumption. The property is on a large corner lot (12,861 SF) directly across from the rear entrance to the Fred Meyer store.
